Background
MarineVision was
created by Adrian Abbs who has owned and sailed on the RORC Series winning
Fastwave II for the 2001,2002 & 2003
seasons.
The new yacht, fidessa fastwave, is being launched early in the 2004
season, and it has identified that improvements can be made, in terms of input
from the Navigator, if the PC used for running SeaPro performance (Nav Tool used
on Fastwave II) was available on deck. RaceVision2 from B&G was known about, but
seen as too expensive. So an in-depth search was started to find for an
alternative. This research project has resulted in several options now available
through MarineVision.
Based on the difficulty of sourcing all the parts
needed to deliver an applicable solution, it became obvious there was a niche
that needed filling and so MarineVision was formed.
Using our
Configure and Order system you can easily create and order your custom
Wireless Navigation and Tactical solution at price levels starting around £3100
rather than the £6500 for the B&G RaceVision2.
Our aim is to continue to innovate in this area
and deliver cost effective, easy to install, state of the art solutions for
Navigation & Tactical software from the 3 leaders in the field. Deckman For
Windows, Seatrack & Seapro (EuroNav).
We also identified, as many in sailing have,
that at speed, or during windy conditions, it can be almost impossible to
communicate on board. We have a solution for this using throat mic technology.
